來自阿公宗教上帶給我的靈感，基督教是他原始的信仰，隨國民政府落腳台灣，與阿嬤再婚後便開始拿香，但祈禱文仍未被他遺忘。阿嬤過身後，自然交付的上香任務被孤獨摧化，和神明的對話成為他獨居時的一種陪伴。
在他身上我看見一些對宗教的無忌和轉變，至始至終，我仍不確定他的內心有無信仰，但每當逢年過節，他訴說的字字句句，結尾永遠都是一家平安，也許無論內心是什麼信仰、有無信仰？人生到最後就是求個平安。

Pîng-an is a term from Taiwanese that means ‘peace’ or ‘safety.’ This photo book draws inspiration from my grandfather’s religious beliefs.Christianity was his original faith, but after the Nationalist government settled in Taiwan and he remarried my grandmother, he began to embrace local customs by lighting incense. Yet he never forgot the Lord’s Prayer. Following my grandmother’s passing, the ritual of prayer became his daily routine, and his conversations with God transformed into a source of companionship in his solitude.
I can sense his unorthodox faith and transformation in relation to his religion. Throughout this journey, I find myself still uncertain whether he truly harbors any beliefs in his heart; yet, in every festival when we gather to pray, his words invariably conclude with a heartfelt ‘pîng-an’. Perhaps, no matter what beliefs we carry in our hearts – – or if we hold any at all — in the end, life is but a journey toward finding peace.
