《Good Girl Adventure》

Good Girl Adventure is the debut photobook by Taiwanese photographer Yi-Hui Guo, composed of 35mm film photographs from her solitary time in Perth and Melbourne. Rather than cataloging landmarks, it traces moments of streets, spaces, and light, unfolding themes of solitude, quiet rebellion, and rupture.

Initially taken as intuitive snapshots with no plan for publication, the images later revealed themselves as an alternate diary—bearing weight, memory, and the fragile courage of a self both brave and uncertain. At its heart is an appreciation for the used, the worn, the imperfect, echoing Guo’s in-betweenness as she steps outside the script of being “good.”

The book underwent multiple rounds of sequencing and test prints, gradually shaping a rhythm between chaos and restraint. The final structure holds traces of rearrangement rather than clear resolution—ambiguous yet honest. Its cover extends the same sensibility: rejecting hierarchy, all text is equal in weight, size, and tone, leaving the work undecorated and deliberately open. Restrained and intimate, Good Girl Adventure becomes a visual essay on presence, care, and the delicate process of unbecoming.
