“You always have a choice.”
“I feel like I’ve died many times, but in doing so, I’ve also revived countless times.” “Revive” is Wen-Hsuan Chao’s first Photobook. Wen-Hsuan believes that in the process of growing up, we all experience deaths and rebirths. From the passive birth, the adolescence devoid of agency, to unconsciously navigating through life; from family constraints, school dogma, and peer scrutiny to societal limitations, until the realization that one can establish their own rules of life. “You always have a choice.” Life is constantly about making choices. Even in the present moment, however imperfect it may be, Wen-Hsuan believes it holds the potential for a new beginning. You can ride the waves of emotion, experience joy or sorrow; you can let darkness engulf you or find a spark of light within. No choice is final, but with each one, you step out as your truest self. This ongoing journey of self-discovery is the path to resurrection.
