This photo series explores the emotions, interactions, and those fleeting yet genuine moments of intimacy found within nightlife. Night becomes a space where the rules loosen, allowing what is typically restrained by daytime’s frameworks to temporarily unravel. Under the influence of alcohol, strangers draw closer, friends become even more intimate, together displaying a kind of lightness and frenzy that nonetheless maintains a subtle balance, never fully tipping into chaos. What happens at night may seem casual, yet still holds its own boundaries.
The book places black-and-white and color images side by side—not simply to divide or reduce feelings, but to let viewers, through this juxtaposition of visual textures, to sense the shifting layers of feeling. As pages turn, the initial clear framework gradually loosens, mirroring how night itself holds both order and abandon.
Much like how, during the day, cigarette ash is neatly contained in an ashtray, while at night, cigarette butts scatter across the ground, I hope these images capture the traces people leave behind when, for a moment, they let down their guard.
